More information on STEM Box

1. What will my child receive in his/her STEM Box?

Each month your child will receive most, if not all, materials to complete up to two STEM based activities. We will email you in advance to inform you if you need other materials so you and your child can begin the activities as soon as you receive your STEM Box..

2. Is STEM Box suitable for my child?

We recommend STEM Box for 7+ years old, however if your child is under 7 we recommend parental involvement and supervision at all times.

3. When will you introduce a STEM Box for younger kids?

The STEM Box Team are currently looking into this. Please sign up for our newsletter so we can keep you updated.

4. Can I gift a STEM Box subscription?

You can definitely gift a STEM Box subscription. Just purchase STEM Box as a gift, enter the child’s details and include a message.

5. Can I find out what my child will be getting in the box ahead of time?

Each month is a surprise. We will inform you of the theme a few days before your box is scheduled to be picked by a courier. 

Previous Boxes

6. Can previous boxes be purchased?

Previous STEM Boxes can be purchased depending on the theme and availability. Some of the activities can be seasonal and thus we are unable to restock.

Previous STEM Boxes can be found here in the store with limited quantity available.

Shipping and Payment

7. When will my child receive their first box?

We aim to ship around the 15th of each month. Depending on your location, please allow up to 15 days to receive your STEM Box. STEM Box is not responsible for delivery delays due to unforeseen circumstances. If you have not received your box within 15 days, please contact us at hello@stembox.com.au.

If you purchase a STEM Box subscription before the 30th of the current month, you will receive the following month’s box. If you purchase on or after the 30th of the current month, you may or may not receive the following month’s box depending on availability.

8. When will I be billed?

You will be billed on the day that you purchase your STEM Box subscription. Subscriptions are automatically renewed. If you purchased a monthly subscription, you will be charged on the same date as when you subscribed every month. If you purchased a 3, 6 or 12 months subscription, you will be charged on the same date as when you subscribed at the end of the subscription period for another 3,6 or 12 months.

If you purchase a gift box, you will only be charged once and payment will not renew.

9. What payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex. All subscription purchases go through the STRIPE payment gateway. The one month gift box and other non-subscription items may be processed through Shopify Payment or Paypal, depending on which payment option you choose.

Although our website is secure (look for the green padlock on the address bar) we do not store your credit card details.

10. Where do you ship to and how much is shipping?

The good news is shipping is FREE for all subscriptions and gift boxes!

Currently we only ship within Australia to residential or business addresses.

11. Do you ship to PO Box addresses?

Unfortunately, we do not ship to PO Boxes as your box will be delivered by a courier service. If you will not be at home to receive your box, you can request to have your box left in a safe/hidden area around your house by choosing the option to ATL (authority to leave).

If you have provided your business address, you may choose the option to leave your STEM Box with reception.

Please note, we highly recommend signature on delivery and by choosing ATL or to leave with reception, STEM Box will not be responsible for lost/stolen packages.

12. How do you secure my monthly STEM Box package?

We may use two boxes or a box and satchel to secure your package. The inner box is used for holding the materials required to complete the activities. The outer box or satchel is to protect the inner box. We highly believe in recycling and sustainability and so we try to minimise the use of non-recyclable and non-renewable materials.

Referral and Competitions

13. Do you have a referral program?

If you refer someone and they purchase a subscription, you will receive 1 point. For every 10 points, you will receive a limited edition "Thank you" STEM Box. Simply ask your friends, family and colleagues to enter your email address (the email you subscribed with) under referral on the checkout page.

14. How do I win a prize?

From time to time we will be running competitions. Please subscribe to our newsletter to be informed when there is a competition.

Cancellation and Returns

15. What is the return policy?

Sorry, we do not accept returns. If you have a problem with a box you have received, please contact us at hello@stembox.com.au or complete the form in the Contact Us page. We will reply to your email within 2 business days.

16. Can I cancel my subscription?

You may cancel your STEM Box subscription anytime but you must cancel at least 5 days before your next recurring charge as we prepare our boxes weeks before we dispatch. If you are on a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription, the cancellation will take effect after the subscription period and if you inform us at least 5 days before the next recurring charge.

16. How do I cancel my subscription?

17. Do you offer refunds?

STEM Box does not offer refunds on monthly subscriptions, or partial refunds on our 3, 6 or 12 months subscriptions or gift boxes.
